Hari Om, Swamiji, my name is Arathy and I am working in an electronics company in Chennai from last July. I had got a chance to talk to you directly, after the meditation course which was held at Chavara Hall last July (first week) in Eranakulam. I have some doubts regarding my career. While at school I was very confused whether to take up engineering or medicine. I used to like Maths and Physics and also adore the profession of a doctor. It was this doubt that drew me close to Bhagavan. Since I got admission to Bits Pilani, one of the premier institution for engineering I took it up and by God’s grace became an engineer and secured job in an electronics company where I wanted. But I still love Medicine. I feel like going for it, do the course and become a doctor. I am ready to work hard and remain dedicated. I have heard of people going for Medcine like this abroad. Dear Arathy,
Your confusion which started in child hood is still disturbing you, which shows a lack of clarity.
An intelligent person with multiple skills and interests may get confused to select their career.
It is better to choose a career that you love to pursue in the long run.
But as of now, you have secured a good job with a highly honoured academic track record.
At this time shifting to a totally different career is challenging; however it is possible!
Understand that Mind plays a lot of tricks; once a desire is fulfilled it will jump to another desire.
Before wasting your many years of engineering education, consult with like-minded people.
What I advise you is to deeply analyse your self!
For this, do Sadhana regularly and observe your self for some time!
You will definitely get the right direction!
