HARIOM. Pranam Swamiji. Pl explain the symbolic values of Shiv Lingam I.e Upper/Middle/Lower parts represents what? Reason for not doing full prathakshinam to Shiva in temples?

‘Lingam’ means a symbol. Shiva Linga means the symbol that represents the Supreme.
The lower part of Shiva Linga is Brahma, middle part is Vishnu and the upper part is Shiva – hence, the ultimate divinity.
The sacredness of Shiva Linga is in its ‘formless’ form.
The flow of Ganga through the holy drain should not be over stepped or crossed. Also the Absolute is beyond human Pradakshina.
That is why full pradakshina is not allowed.
