Hariom.. We are Iyers (my husband is no more) and my daughter wants to marry a muslim boy. He is telling her that after marriage she can retain her name and be vegetarian but cannot do Idol worship. I am not clear on what does that mean. I am trying to convince her but she is adamant of getting married. Please advise me on this. It is paining me a lot.

If the guy truly loves your daughter he should be able to accept her the way she is, and not set any rules, for her to be his. Ask her, if he will accept some demands on her end before marrying him? Life is not an easy road and if he starts demanding even before walking together, she will have a tough journey to take. Tell her to take some more time before committing to him and observe his attitudes to her. If she is patient the right decision will reveal itself to her. Hari Om.
