hello swamaji, i am young, going to turn 18 soon, and i wanted to ask you something. I have been together with this guy for more than 2 years and i know it sounds ridiculous because im young. i always felt like its some sort of sin to be with a guy cause im young, but for the past 2 years he has always been supportive, kind and loving towards me. he has never ever been inappropriate with me. He always gives me personal space and lets me study. i get good grades in school. i have a good life. But i never can tell my parents about this because ofcourse they will think that im mad or something. but nobody realises that im happy with him and i have really good friends. He always tells me to be positive. the problems is everytime i think about my parents, i feel really bad because they cant know. but i also dont want to leave him because he keeps me happy and gives me really good advices . ofcorse im not very dependent on him, im independent too, i just feel bad. so am i doing something very wrong by being with him?

There is nothing wrong in having a good friend and keeping him. However, there is nothing to hide from your parents. The only problem in entertaining a relation like this is to be able to have clear boundaries. The fact that guilt is happening in your mind itself indicates you are afraid of not being able to keep clear boundaries. Stay bold and rely on yourself. All friendships are good as long as they make you a better person. Hari Om.
