Hello Swamiji, I am introduced to your classes through my mother who follows the regular gita classes telecasted in TV in morning. Myself and my elder sister are well employed but not married. She is close to 32 and am close to 28. I wanted her to be happily settled before I am or atleast her marriage to be fixed before mine. That was a long term wish for me. So I waited. She had previously some medical conditions during which we did not see proposals for her and now she is fine, but due to her age, proposals coming are very few. But my sister doesnt want to marry for the sake of age being high, if she likes the guy enough to marry, she would agree. And my parents are hysterical about this, since they are bothered about her age and what would society say. So they are telling you need to compromise few things and everything will be fine after marriage..which I dont fully agree too.and I am in a relation with a person who works with me for one year and I presented this at home. Two problems for my parents :1) He is from lower caste and iam Nair and 2) his father has vitiligo skin condition and they say it is hereditary and question is what if the same medical condition comes for him or your children. And moreover for them it is a prestige issue.. But the boy, is really good person. Atleast compatible to me. Third my horoscope has chove dhosham. so my parents are scared this also might affect any guy / my life , if i dont marry a person with same dosham. But looking many horoscopes for my sister, they have lost interest now in that as well. But on top of all this, they are concerned about their prestige and status on the guys caste and his father’s medical condition since it is a visible skin issue. So hearing all these statements again and again, am getting disturbed now. Normally am a strong girl, and I do what I feel is right. But now am not able to decide. Just leaving a person for caste / for reason that his father is not well…I feel guilty for this. Yes, if in future I am faced with this, I have to tackle it and there is no point in crying that time. Any of us can fall ill anytime, which might not be in our control sometimes and I dont feel saying no to this, for this two reasons. But yes it will put my family to lot of pressure and questions. What I dont understand is if they change their mindset, since they are more bothered about society which is not so much needed would it not make things easier? Am in real dilemma now. thanks for your time swamiji. It is nice to see people who stay true to what they truly believe. May you have a many more good time to enlighten people.

I very well understand your problem and appreciate your patience and strength. You can live with the person that you really love, however you need an expert medical opinion regarding the hereditary skin disease. If you bear a child with the disease you may blame yourself for this relation. So do necessary blood tests and medical consultations regarding that. Apart from that, if you have a very positive mind, bold mind and prayerful life you can overcome all challenges . My sincere prayers are with you. Do one week upavasam with chanting the Mantra of your ishtadevata 108 times. The right decisions will come to you. Hari Om.
