Hi Swamiji, I have a few questions from the talk in Aathmathathwam – Vol 35 – Part 3 of 6. 1) There was an advise that we should not ignore the previous vasanas or the culture that we accumulated but we should Handle them. By this do we mean that Handling them is via Japa and Meditation ? Or is there something else that we have to do. 2) I consider or Understand the Sabarimala Pilgrimage and the customs with respect to it to centre ourselves if we have gone past it and a way to rethink how we live our life. Please give me your advises on the above things. Thank you. Hari OM

Dear Prajeeth,
Sadhana (Japam, meditation etc) gives clarity; that is, you become more aware of your own Vasanas or tendencies.
When you observe your own nature (or the kind of thoughts and expressions) you will know your self well.
This will empower your positive qualities and destroy negative qualities.
Penance like “Sabarimala Vrutham” increases your mental strength.
It helps you to rule your habits, rather than being ruled by them.
Even though you are not practising it all through the year, it helps you to become centered and stabilized.
HariOm!
