I have always had the habit of chanting mantras of different devatas for well-being and long-life of loved ones. It gave me solace. But when I hear u say that the god resides within everyone, then is all this chanting and murthy pooja useless ? I dervife strength only when I think that the god in the heaven is giving me power. But if I think he is within me, then why do I feel powerless ?

Dear Ganga Jayakumar,
Recently you have seen the solar eclipse. Though Sun is much bigger than the Moon, the Moon could cover Sun for a while and spread darkness every where. Can you say that Sun is powerless at that time? Sun’s glory can not be diminished by any one. Similarly your negative thoughts can cover the glory of the Lord within, for a while. When you cultivate positive thoughts then the mind becomes transparent and such a mind can express the full glory of the Chaithanyam within.
