I would like to know from revered Swamiji who has got vast knowledge of scriptures what is actually the position of the subtle body departed from the Gross body along with Atman apart from what is said by Bhagavan in the fifteenth chapter of the Geetha. What is the position of the subtle body till it receives another gross body and whether the subtle body will have the awareness of the body and environment it has discarded as the mind can enliven all the happenings as in a dream even without the help of the gross body. Please enlighten me. Hari Om!

I appreciate your depth and curiosity in this subject.
As it is said in Bhagavatham, when mind is separated (that is what death as we call it) that mind immediately identifies with a living being in order to get another body.
The mind moves through sperm ( not necessary that mind moves with human sperm; according to the vasana one develops mind chooses such environment ) unconsciously.
After getting body alone it regains the consciousness.
