If reaching God is nothing but attaining a state of human perfection,then what is all this talk of “seeking refuge in Him” so that he will save you,etc?Why do people still talk of him and us being separate entities when the fact is that he is an inanimate spiritual power lying within ourselves,waiting to be harnessed?

The concept of a God outside self is an idea of Semitic religions and not of Hindu Dharma. However, in early stages of your spiritual journey it is helpful to identify the divine in a form, and practice devotion and surrender. This will help eliminate ego easily and accept the universal truth. As you progress in your journey the seeking becomes inward, not outward. Hari Om.
