If we sincerely seek something and when our desire is not fullfilled, we know that we are okay even without it, but still a pain remains. what is that pain? How we should deal with it? How we can get rid of that pain?

It is the ego that experiences the pain when it does not get what it expects.
In true surrender, when you leave all desires at the Lotus Feet of the Lord and accepts every thing as HIS Prasad gratefully, no pain can disturb you!
The purpose of all Sadhana is to develop to that acceptance, devotion and surrender!
