In our Puranas, Rishis and Sages are found to be very short tempered and they curse on the spur of the moment when they are supposed to be calm and composed. why could”t they control their thoughts and mind as we are told to do?

Dear Varada,
Expression of anger for the benefit of the other is good. If the anger does not affect the person who epresses it, he is the real “Muni”. When Krishna decided to kill Shishupala he expressed great anger on his face. Similarly he expressed anger in the war field towards Bheeshmacharya too. At the same time, Krishna”s smiling touch reveals that he is not affected by anger. The real masters epress anger but they are not affected by it. Expression and experience are different. While ordinary people experience anger, Rishis express it.
