Is each person’s mind part of god or is god the energy that controls the mind to be rested when we are sleeping and commands the mind to wake up ? Also since god is this energy does that mean god is only in living beings and not in any dead beings or any non living objects? Finally you say it’s up to each individual person to return to god but since each person is already a part of the energy we call god aren’t we already there?

God is a conscious intelligence that permeates the entire universe, both living and non-living. Consider a nonliving thing, at an atomic level, isn’t there an intelligence in the way the electrons and protons behave? Man is a highly evolved form of that intelligence and even has discrimination, yet, not totally perfect. He is still contained in the little bubble called the body. I, me and mine limit him. The term Brahmam denotes “the expansive” nature of the all pervading consciousness. If we can go beyond our limitations to include everything as a part of us in the true sense…..”we are there”. Otherwise, Divinity is variably expressed by every being, but the perfection is missing. All our spiritual Sadhanas aim to reach that goal, by outgrowing the imperfections and liabilities in us. Hari Om.
