It is said in scriptures that when one discards his body, the sthula sarira only is left behind and his sukshma sarira and karana sarira remain in tact. In the next birth these sariras guide the pattern of life in the new body. My doubt is if this is so, the departed soul should be able to function in the matter of dreams etc in the same way in which the soul had functioned when it was in the discarded body. Swamiji may kindly enlighten me in this regard. Hari Om!
