In Sagunopasana you meditate on the form of a personal deity or Ishtadevatha. Through attachment to his personal God, the devotee slowly detaches from lesser pleasures and material goals. He finds ultimate joy in his divine love. The love that Gopikas had for Krishna is a good example. After HE left Vrindavan they used the knowledge that He is their “antharathma” to uplift themselves through his constant remembrance. In Sagunopasana all your thoughts and deeds are dedicated to your Ishtadevatha. Hari Om.
