Rituals and customs vary according to region, sects, time and people. So they don’t carry much importance. What they signify is more important. If your son and daughter understand the reason behind these rites they will be blessed. Sit down with your children and the girl’s family and decide on mutually agreeable formats. Or you can conduct a vedic marriage which will be acceptable to all Hindus. Hari Om.
