Our mind is a bundle of flowing thoughts (Vasanas) accumulated over the years. Stoppage of this flow of thoughts brings about the knowledge of the power behind the mind. The process of restricting the area over which thoughts roam about can be achieved by regular and continuous practice of japa, meditation etc. This helps us in transforming our character. We are the product of our own thoughts. What we think we become. The mind can be purified by sincere sadhana. Purify the motives. Build life on enduring values of love and mercy, charity and purity. Through consistently remembering the Lord one can rise up in spiritualism.
