Namaskaram Swamiji : Myself Chetna, I am a regular reader of Karmyoga way of life wisdom posted by you. I enjoy the articles written by you and its practical applications. Recently, you mentioned about how one has to be calm and be at peace in mind while executing the work, and sometimes the work may not be challenging etc, and in such cases we need to learn new skill and upgrade ourselves and contribute value addition in services. I am currently learning new skills in my professional world, but I am not sure whether I will get opportunity in the same organization and if not what should I do. I am worried that my time & investment in learning new skills should not go wasted . What should I do in such cases. I am not getting opportunity for which I am putting efforts, how should I tackle this challenge

The most famous of Bhagavad Gita’s Karmayoga teachings would be BG 2:47
“Karmanye vadhikaraste Ma Phaleshu Kadachana,
Ma Karmaphalaheturbhurma Te Sangostvakarmani”.
It simply tells you, your focus should be on the action and not the outcomes. What if I don’t get the opportunity, what if my skills go wasted…..etc. will only take the focus in the wrong direction. If you have to run a Marathon and win, you only need to equip your lungs, legs, muscles etc. and the running will happen automatically. Likewise, you only need to sharpen your skills more and more……the right opportunity and chances will come to you. Hari Om.
