Namaskaram Swamiji,I heard the story that Maharaja Parikshit build an abode in middle of the sea to escape from Takshaka’s bite (his fate). But Takshaka still came in the form of worm hidden in fruit and bit the King to death. This can be viewed as an example that One cannot escape his or her own fate. But, does Bhagavatham supports this story? As this would mean that Parikshit was still afraid of death (even after understanding Bhagavatham) and was trying of means to escape it.

Parikshit build the abode in the sea hoping to escape death, before he heard Bhagavatham. But after listening to Bhagavatham he achieved Vigjnanam and Vairagyam, and had dissolved his mind in Bhagavan before Thakshaka came. He was fearless and even told Sri. Suka that he didn’t care or fear death anymore, since his soul had already merged with the Divine. Thakshaka coming as a worm and killing his mortal body was completing the fate. But the mind of Parikshit was evolved and transformed before that. Hari Om.
