Namasthe Swamiji, I am a regular viewer of your talks in bhagawatham in TV. We are very worried about my elder son who is 12th standard, he has totally changed in his behaviour, not listening to anyone, he is not at all studying, not even taking his book, not praying, always sleeps or in phone. Hes having lot of divertions. Took him to counsellor too, but he has gone more worse. We saw many astrologers, and they have told that his behaviour now is due to the previous birth’s sins and that some pariharas has to be done to recover. We are really worried swamiji, hes just having 3 months to write the board exam. It looks like he has given up his studies. Kindly advise us swamiji.

Children at this age have more problems than the adult world realizes. They feel they have to compete and perform in a world that is not sympathetic or understanding of them. Have you had an open discussion with him or one of his close friends to find out what his view of the situation is? It is important to know they are struggling to establish their identity at this age, like a butterfly trying to come out of its cocoon. Parents often only see they are not studying but fail to see the butterfly trapped in the cocoon, unable to develop the wings it desperately needs to develop, so it can fly. You may need to seek the help of someone (a friend, a relative) that your son loves and respects to talk to him. Until you really understand why he behaves the way he does, you cannot tackle it. We are available to provide counseling services at the Bhagavatham village if you need help. Talk to him and write back to me. Hari Om.
