Namasthe Swamiji, What according to the scripture was varna system? Some people say that the varna is based on our actions and the mixing of the three gunas and not on the basis of birth. But some others say that the brahmins and kshathriyas treated the vaishyas and sudras as inferiors. What is the reality ? Was there any discrimination on the basis of caste? Please clarify . Thanks in advance

Varna according to Hindus these are based up on the quality of mind.
The mind entertains negative ( complain, complex, lethargy, no motivation ).
Such a mind is called Sudra.
The mind which is eager to study, work, earn and all such self happiness – such a mind is called “Vysia”.
The mind who cares, supports and protects others and at the same time finds time in spiritual upliftment ( sadhana) are Kshatriyas.
Finally the mind that enjoys the company and closeness or feeling of consciousness is called Brahmana.
It is natural that the higher mind ignores the weak minded people.
Since these ( Sudra and Vysia) live for their own pleasure, the selfless minded people ignore them.
However this is nothing to do with the present caste system; it is a very absurd idea as it has to be abolished.
