It is not the Mantra that makes the mind perfect; it is the dedication & involvement of the mind makes our mind strong. Remember the Mantra recited by Ratnakara? HariOm!

Pranamam Guruji, I am an ardent listener of your discourse on Asianet at 5.45 am. Of late, I have been feeling that in your examples and criticisms you are targeting older people. In last day’s (15.6.11) example, you told the story of a mother in law and a wise daughter in law. I am the m-i-l of a very proud d-i-l. Without any hesitation, even if I am sitting on the floor, she will sit in a chair or easy chair. The current generation (95%) of d-i-ls do not value our older systems. Even I don’t bother about it now as I am used to it. Swamiji, if you undertake a study of the d-i-ls and the current m-i-ls, you will find that the older generation is suffering. Why do you think that there are so many oldage homes and `ammathottils’ coming up? Is it because the older people wanted not to live with their children? As for me, even with a little discomfort, I would prefer to live with my son, even though I can stand and live on my own. I would prefer to go to an oldage home when the first choice becomes tough. As for politicians, cine makers, etc., I can understand that youngsters are preferable. But in your case, the larger chunk of the listeners will comprise of the oldies. Why I write this is because if at all somebody from the younger lot is listening to you, this will give an edge to them –see what the Swamiji is saying – and give one more weapon in their hands to attack the oldies. I am sending this not with an intention to publish it in your question-answer section, but with a request to spare the older, unfortunate lot. In this high tech era, marriages are just a ceremonial function. In majority of the cases, the girls would have taken the boy under her thumb and does not need the m-i-l as a necessity to reach her husband’s mind. Hope you understand the situation. Hari Om.
