ANSWERS

Dear Swamiji, I have a bit of confusion as I start to practice breathing exercise and meditation. I am not able to differentiate between the two. Swamiji talked about pranayam, meditation and devotion. When one does pranayam, I am not able to remember the steps of pranayam? Similarly, when practicing meditaion, what do we tell our mind. I remember swamiji saying when breathing out one should chant “OM”. What about breathing in? I am not able to recall what to do while doing both. Thank u so much for letting me ask the question. Hari Om! I happened to attend the Art Of Living Course (Sri Sri Ravi Shankar). It looked like our instructor had memorised certain points from the lectures given by Sri Sri. She basically could not explain what actually is the meaning of Kriya Yoga that they taught. Can you please tell me what is Manas? Swamiji, you have said in answers to some of the questions here that our mind belongs to God who is our consciousness and each of us are divine. This might be a silly question but have to ask it anyways. If God has created this world and everything in it from himself, what is the reason for this, why should this world be created, why should people and other living things suffer & enjoy why should we all go thru this maya, find salvation and then join the supreme. In essence why did he have to separate us from him in the first place. Why does the world need to exist, why can’t it just be the all encompassing Supreme consiousness or God.
