My Experience NAMASKARAM SWAMIJI I consider you as the rebirth of Swami Vivekananda .For the past 3 years I am listening to your spiritualual talks I am writing this mail to share my experience.I shall give a brief introduction about me.I, along with my husband, am conducting tuition classes for SSLC students at my home for the past 30 years We give stress on value based education.. I was a blind devotee of god in the beginning which was induced by my parents.But seeing the activities of the so called devotees of God I thought that if god could protect them definitely HE will protect me .I gave up all rituals.I don’t even light ‘Nilavilakku’.for the past 40 years and do not pray .I never consult astrologers I never do any ‘Vazhipadu’ All these are not as a protest,but to demonstrate practically that more than following the rituals ,if you follow a Dharmic life, always God will protect you.I have seen people daily chanting ‘Geetha” and Janappana” and doing adharmic activities.So I hated these holy books .I felt Hinduism as a religion full of superstitions with numerous strange Gods and rituals which do not make any sense to a logical mind at all. When once during an occasion,I was asked to read ‘BHAGAVADGITA’,I did not oblige. But I always believed in a force which I called ‘Universal intelligence’.This was my state of mind when I was 20 years old.Now I am 58.In my family circle I am considered as an Atheist.I am following a spiritual life based on my experience,knowledge,thought and intelligence. But surprisingly,many people came to my life who indirectly made me read about Indian Culture.Then I started to listen to Spiritual speeches.This changed my attitude to Hinduism.These discources helped me to realise that the path I am following is correct.When I listen to Swamili’s Prabashanams, I feel that swamilji is speaking what is in my mind.This gave me confidence Now .I feel so proud to be born as a Hindu. I am doing yoga for the past 15 years .This has brought a tremendous change in my attitude As you have mentioned in one of your prabhashanams,daily I start my class with this prayer ‘Give me knowledge and light.I will not make my life miserable.I will always keep a smiling face” . Each student chants this prayer.I have received so many blessings in my life.and I had to face many crisis also which I found later to be blessings in disguise. This year ,.on June,19th ,I came to know that I am having Breast cancer.In this also, I see the divine grace because It was a priicking pain lasting for just a minute that helped to identify the disease at an early stage .Even Physical examination by Oncologist and Surgeon could not confirm it. I am undergoing the treatment at CMC ,Vellore.The surgery was done on July 5th.The knowledge that I am having cancer did not upset me at all..I entered the operation theatre with a smiling face.I have completed my chemotherapy schedule.Then I have to undergo Radiation therapy..By the middle of February, the treatment will be over. . Another great tragedy struck me on October 21st. I have two sons.We have brought them up . with values and ideals .My elder son Praveen was Asst.Professor and HOD of MCA Dept.FISAT ,an Engineering college under Federal Bank Some cultural function was going on in the college.He reached the college driving hii car. .As we came to know later ,he showed severe mental abnormality there.He behaved like a totally different person .Eventually he jumped off, from Gosree bridge and drowned. He is a calm ,collected person,38 years old. .Till then he had not shown any abnormality in his behaviour..Even his wife told that he was quite normal when he left for the college Even the college authorities did not notice anything strange in his behaviour till that day.They told that he was a gentleman and a very good teacher..Everything took place within 4 hours…It is still a mystery how it happened. He was married.having a daughter 8years old and son 1 yea old.r..It was he who used to take me for my Chemotherapy to Vellore.My younger son would come there from Hyderabad.He is working as Asst.Profesor at IIT.,Hyderabad For the past 2 months my husband was saying that that there is numbness in his head.When he shake his head it feels heavy and painful. .It started on the day our eldest son died.He was taking medicine.Doctor told that it may be sinusitis.He had also little balancing problem while he walks.On Dec 22,I had a sudden feeling that there may be some clot in the brain I compelled him to take CT SCAN after consulting Neuro surgeon..They found a clot in the brain . It was in a critical stage Immediately surgery was done.Here also I felt the divine grace. . All these happened within a span of 6 months. Inspite of all these, I have never lost my mental balance..I feel that my disease , the loss of my son and my husband’s disease are all intended for my spiritual growth..I have accepted these with ‘Prasadha Budhi’ I am surprised that from where I get this mental strength..I still maintain my smiling face Your prabhashanams have helped me a lot.Yous is a very practical approach..The service you are doing to the society could not be expressed in words.,especially attracting the young generation to spirituality.As you always say,We could not change the events,but definitely we can decide how to respond to them .
