Poojya Swamiji, We have lost our 29 year old recently married son in an accident at Singapore on 7 th August 2010. We are yet to recover from the shock. We regularly listen to your advises in TV programmes. One swamiji near to us told that our son will take rebirth in the family in near future. My question is that do you really believe in rebirths?. Will my son take a rebirth in the family.? Is it possible or was it a consolation given to us by him ?

Hariom!
Though we all feel sad about your son’s untimely demise, we should understand the science behind death and birth.
Death means the discarding of the body by the mind ( the accumulated culture ,behavior, skill and knowledge).
Birth means manifestation of old mind through new body.
Understand, we also die and take birth every day.
In sleep your mind discards old body (temporary death); when you wake up, your old mind manifesting through new body (the age of the body is not remaining the same when you sleep)
So, your son has to comeback; whether he comes back to your family is not guaranteed.
That depends upon the culture he has accumulated.
So never sit idle so that mind will destroy you; engage your self in spiritual understanding.
