In Kaliyuga, the purity of the place, pooja materials and the poojari’s mind are not perfectly pure. So in Kaliyuga, these kinds of rituals have not much relevance, according to Lord Krishna (in Bhagavatham). The Lord says that in Kaliyuga, the easiect and surest way to please HIM is by Namasankeerthanam and Satsang.
