Pranam Guruji, Mine has been an arranged marriage. But my MIL has disliked me. I live abroad and visit them. She has told me not to come and I do visit them. Always showing hatred towards me. But this visit she said that their final rites should be done by daughter and SIL. Hearing this I walked out of the house. Nor did they stop us. I don’t want to ever go back. Now if anything happens to the parents, please guide me as what to do?

Relations often get strained by simple misunderstandings which go uncorrected. No matter how your MIL behaves to you, try and do your duties properly as much a possible. Who does the last rites is not the important matter. How you treat a person and make them feel when alive deserves more attention. Have the strength to ignore petty fights and step up to a noble role. Hari Om.
