Pranam Swamiji, As said, Chatur varnyam is not by birth but by gunas and karmas. My friend, with a court order joined in a major temple as keesanthi, but melsanthi and other seniors never recognise him.. Not only in priesthood, but in brahmin society, he has no place because he born in a shudra family. They will not invite him for any family functions or get a life partner from their society thus in his society as well as brahmin society, he became alone. Lucky he has a mind set to overcome this. It is very difficult to change the mind set of the society as they are keen on where he took birth, and what are the customs and traditions he follows etc.. i just told practical realities. Pls advs..

The fact that some of the temple authorities or “Brahmins by birth” don’t accept your friend despite him having proven his Gunas, only goes to shows “brahmajnanam” is not acquired by birth. Constant education on such matters and what Bhagavan Himself has said in Bhagavad Gita, is needed to make people understand that. I understand your point, but as more and more people born in Sudra families acquire Bhramanyam by Gunas and karmas, it will change. Any road is tough for the person who walks on it first, but as more and people come that way, it will be a smooth journey. I hope more children born to Sudra families will learn Tantra and become priests. Hari Om.
