pranam swamiji .hindus believe in reincarnation.but then what is the point of doing piturkarmas for many years.can u explain the tatwa behind it.

Please read the article on Karkidakavavu on the website. Though we pray during Pitrukarma (and some of the rituals denote) that the departed soul soon gets a suitable body to continue its karmic journey, the idea of Pitrukarma is to pay our homage to the ancestors whose sacrifices are the reason for our life and well being. It is not a bad idea to remember them atleast once a year ! It is also a great way to show your children how you respect your forefathers, even past their life times. Hari Om.
