Pranam Swamiji, In Devaswom board temples, they charge Rs 425 for Ganapathy homam and bhagavad seva out of which Rs 150 is given to melsanthi for purchasing pooja items and doing pooja. We are doing this every month. Melsanthi told us how he can purchase pooja items and doing ganapathy homam and bhagavad seva with Rs 150 and hence give full amount to him and he shall do better but board office should not know this. Our astrologer says that bhagvan will accept the pooja if we book officially with the receipt. We are bit confusion. Pls advs how to go about this..

It is important to understand what the purpose of doing a puja is, not who takes the money from it. Ideally every puja is an offering of your mind and that is why we even had Manasapujas without any materials involved. When u do Ganapathi homam, you are purifying the atmosphere and also awakening your consciousness to tackle all problems. Anyone can take the money as long as it is performed the right way with the right purpose. Hari Om.
