Pranam Swamiji, My friends father is a brahmin died recently. His mother is a nair lady. His fathers brothers did all customs as per their system. He also attended but was no role. Before death his father told mother that if he dies, let his relatives do all karmas as per their systems and after that let his son do as per mothers system. Now my friend has a doubt once all customs did as per brahmin tradition, will it be duplicate if he do again. The karma “sappinni” is for enhancing soul which is in prethavastha to pithru gana and lifted to pithru loka. Once his soul is in pithru loka, is there any need to repeat the karma. Pls advs.

Hari Ohm. According to my understanding the pithrukriya done by beloved people are having more effect than other relatives even brothers. If the son feels that his father’s soul will be happy when his son offers the bali, then he should do. Imagine a situation of a child having food with his father ,and father insisting the child to take food independently whereas the child wants his mother to feed him. Here ,what makes the child glad ? The connection between the minds of mother and child can not be taken away by father’s order.Similarly a father will be happy when his son offers bali than the orders (customs) followed by father’s family. The soul will remain until the son feeds
