Hari Ohm. It is because, the calendar we are following are different from that followed by other states.In Malayalam calendar Krishnashtami falls in Chingam whereas others celebrate Krishnashtami on Ashtami of Sravana month of Saka era .Unity and spirit and involvement are emphasized than the day on which it is celebrated.the people living abroad are unable to celebrate festivals on working days . They fix another convenient day for celebration and enjoy the festival with the same fervor.Two years back I was in Chicago and participated in a Krishnashtami celebration which was held on a holiday.
