Dear Pramodini,
“Bali karmam ” is meant to make you remember that you are deathless. The body perishes and the mind will take another body till it reaches it’s source. And when all the family members gather together for doing the Bali karmam, family relations are maintained through the respect for the departed soul. So when you realize the presence of God, all these rituals will not have any special meaning for you.
