Death is not an end, it is just a change of clothes (body) as far as the Athma is concerned. The soul continues the external journey after it leaves the body, by acquiring new bodies until it reaches the source or the Universal soul through a continuous process of purification. The body returns to its source or the panchabhootas.Hari Om.
