Pranamam Guruji sometimes when we find inspirational and uplifting messages, it uplifts our minds so much when we listen to it often but some changes of the mind dont stay that long whereas some stay very long .I listen to a lot of your talks and i have started feeling some positive changes and attitudes in my life,i feel my work environment has become better as i changed my attitude and got a bit wiser and emotionally mature but i also noticed that i am getting addicted to such inspirational talks as i want to listen to it anytime i am free.Is that a good sign, lately i have been listening to a lot of your talks and brahmakumari meenajis ,they are so positive and powerful for me and resonates with my mind and heart so much. But i feel i am sort of addicted to listening than doing meditation, namajapam or reading,am i on the right path towards seeking the truth or am i going wrong. Please guide me Swamiji.Hari Om

In Gurukulas in the olden days after a period of training, the disciples would forcefully be send away from the guru for Swadhyaya or “self teaching”. A Guru or inspirational speaker attracts you because he/she reminds you of your abilities to become a better individual. However, a lot of people forget the purpose and start focussing on the speaker and the message. This will only hinder your progress and it becomes a “useless addiction” and waste of time as you rightly pointed out. The right method is to learn from multiple sources, different people, everyday experiences and above all from nature and yourself. I congratulate you for being able to identify the addiction, that is truly a sign of maturity. A lot of people don’t even have the ability to identify their weakness. Stay blessed and continue your attempts. You will be corrected and guided every step of the way as needed. Hari Om.
