I have explained this earlier. There is no reason to observe pula or death rites for someone you don’t even know. Extended family had such observances in a joint family system, that is not applicable in today’s world. We have to learn to adapt and change rituals according to the times and place we live. The scriptures allow us to do so. There is no need for any fear. My appreciation for your daughter on her progressive thinking. Hari Om.
