Pranamam Swamiji and thanks very much for your guidance . Sometimes I don’t understand whether it is good to have pride or not and I feel there is a thin line between being confident and having good self esteem and being proud.I have been raised in a way to always be down to earth but sometimes in the workplace if you are very humble and nice , people judge you negatively and walk all over you.As I am a bit sensitive by nature, such things hurt me.Is it wrong to be proud of what you have or of God’s blessings in your life and when I see some others talking about their talents or blessings so proudly,I feel like a fool to be soft spoken and timid when I have the same things sometimes even better. So how do l be confident and assertive in such a way that no one can take advantage of me but not too proud as I know that is bad.Like you had advised before I tried to build a wall against negativity and for sometime it is successful but later again some negativity at workplace comes in and spoils my spirit. Some people at work I have seen look for just your weaknesses and poke just those areas to hurt you.How do we stop such things from affecting us completely.

Much as you wish to be strong, you are too concerned about “other people”. People are entitled to have their own opinion about you, just like you have opinions about others. But, you worry about other people’s opinion only when you are not sure about yourself. Self esteem is not pride. It is the ability to depend on yourself, know you can and you will! However, knowing the everything you execute so efficiently is a gift of God, is maturity and automatically brings humility in you. You don’t need to show off anything, when your attitude is right, it projects well that you will get the appreciation you deserve. Always remember you don’t demand respect….you command it ……by the way you are. Hari Om.
