The Narayana Kavacham occurs in Bhagavada Purana in the sixth Skanda in Chapter eight. Any Mantra creates a ripple of sound waves around the central point of origin. So when repeatedly chanted the Mantra provides a protective armor or “kavacham” that protects the individual from all harms both known and unknown.
