I understand participating in a debate is not exactly presenting your values. The key point here is, what you eat is not a matter of beliefs…..but what is good for your body. Our ancestors clearly understood this fact that they advised Vegetarianism as a part of the Hindu life style. The human body, it’s structure and enzymes are unsuitable for a non- vegetarian diet. Meat is not properly digested, but putrefied (decayed) in our system, the toxins and acidic environment it creates can cause cancer. From a debator’s stand point….is it something the government should enforce? People are fighting it because they look at it from a religious and political angle. It is the duty of every government to enforce what is good for its people. It will be more effective by educating our children on a diet that is good for the body, and not by violent means. However, the government has every authority to ban illegal and unhealthy slaughter houses and enforce food safety. A lot of Westerns are vegetarians or vegans now because they have seen the enormous health burden of non- Vegetarianism. It will be foolish on our end to give up our good values and habits out of ignorance. I hope you ace your competition. My blessings are with you. Hari Om.
