Pranamam Swamiji I hear your prabhashanams through youtube videos and sometimes i have some doubts and confusions, at times you mention that there is no use of praying and asking for help or material things like wealth or health to God as God cannot do anything about it and it is our karma that has to be good. But we do hear from others experiences and sometimes even our own, we feel that praying sincerely can help a lot like praying for a sick person can help that person heal and that praying is very effective in removing our sorrow if we pray sincerely. Sometimes we feel God does help when we pray but i am still little confused..Is acheiving sama budhi possible for an otherwise emotional person. Its easy to say but difficult to achieve. How can that be really achieved in this life ?

The first thing to know is, emotions are not bad. It is the ability to smile that makes a man different from an animal. Smile is expression of an emotion. The problem is when you don’t have the ability to get out of your emotional pit. When something untoward happens in life, it is quite natural that we become angry, upset, frustrated or tearful. But how long does it take for you to shake off that misery and move on with life as a renewed human being is the test of your spiritual power. That is what spirituality and balance is all about. Now, if you think God will remove your misery when you pray, question is “who is God and where is HE?” That brings you to the understanding that it is the “hidden Divine potential” in you. Prayers, chanting etc. are only techniques to tranquilize your thoughts and invoke the Divinity in Clarity and wisdom. Hari Om.
