Pranamam Swamiji,I have always felt most of the mythological story where a rishi muni sat for Penance and his favourite god appears and he asks for a reward in return.Did all these stories teach our Hindu people the wrong thathwa where all the bargain system with God started.I will do this ,you do fulfill my desire.Did these story actually teach wrong thathuvam?Please explain.Hari Om!!

Bhagavan himself has said I come to you in the way you aspire for. It is important to understand what happened when the reward they asked for was material gains. In most of those stories, the material gains/ powers made them arrogant and got them into trouble. Only when higher goals and Brahma njanam was received did it make a positive change. It is important to have material prosperity and true divine knowledge (Yogam and Kshemam). Hari Om.
