Pranams! Mydoubt is about giving ‘daanam’.It is a good jesture to help those in need; but doesn’t that encourage laziness,begging etc.Won’t it make people take the easy way out?

Dear Nalini,
You are exactly right.
Dhanam is to help the other person for developing/improving his life.
When we give food, we can satisfy for a day only.
When we give clothes, we can satisfy for a few weeks/months only.
But, when we give knowledge, we can satisfy for a lifetime. It can turn him into a real devotee of the Lord for a lifetime.
So, “Jnanadhanal Anyatradhanam na Shreshtam”.
