Ayyappa represents the evolution of human mind towards enlightenment. It happens when Vishnu (consciousness) merges with Shiva(power to destroy the material word). It requires meditation and control of senses. So Ayyappa is a celibate, in yoga samadhi. When you evolve through such practices you realize “Tatwamasi” or “That Thou art” meaning you are one with the divine. The stories in Hinduism have very deep truths hidden in them. It is important to know the essence of each. You should now tell this to all your friends so they understand it too. Hari Om.
