respected swamiji. my name in sankar babu, and i am working in a private company in U.A.E. and i am a disciple of the great dr n gopalakrishnan who showed me the right path in my life. and i happened to heard your discourse in asianet some of your thoughts have the similarities with dr gopalji. are you his follower, this is not my question,only a dought. and my question is , what is your opinion about the offerings, i mean we hindus are spending lots of money for temples and offerings even if we do not afford. is that necessary to offering . a average hindu spend 5000 rupees every year for the temples what is the benifit for spending this much of money my question is genuine. i expect a genuine answer form you. thank you

Dear Shankar Babu,
There is only one Truth; so all seekers seek the same Truth and speak about the same Truth, may be in different ways!
As for offerings to temples, please understand that you can not please God with any thing other than surrendering your mind.
Only genuine Bhakthi uplifts your mind and unites you with the Lord.
Offerings or Vazhipadu are for the temples’ existence. If you strongly believe in them, you get a solace when you do that; it is a psychological relief.
When you KNOW that the Chaithanyam in your Self and the Deity are the same, what is the relevance for any offerings?
