Respected swamiji. your advice helped me in various issues.this problem i dont know how to solve this.may be so many parents worrying about the same issue.my daughter 16 years old.she is not interested in studies.doesnt have belive in god.now i got information that she is in love .i tried many ways to correct her.i did counselling.i punished her.she is not understanding the consequences.i failed in all means to convince her.what i can do as a mother.because now i am afraid…i checked her horoscope also.they are also telling that it is a bad period for her,like this can happen ennu.ente molk vivekam undakan njan enthu cheyyanam.she is living in a fantasy world. i hope swami can underdtand the heartpain of a mother .

Teenage is a time when your kid is in utter confusion, and emotional weakness, than you understand. Every little problem is a big problem for a teenager. What she needs now is not a “worried mother” but a strong, loving and supportive mother. Please stop advising, counseling or punishing. Instead only talk to her like you would talk to a friend. Always have your watchful eyes on what she does, to stop any harm from happening to her. But, do not keep correcting her. Kids know more than we realize, they are in fact fighting for your acceptance. Some of them take a “don’t care” attitude because they don’t know how to get your acceptance in a good way. Talk to her about other people’s good and bad experiences in a nonjudgmental way, so she has a lesson to learn from every story. Repeatedly tell her, how important a person she is in your world and how dependent your family is, on her doing well. Let her start thinking of herself as an amazing person, so loved by her parents. Then she will live up to it. My blessings are with you. Hari Om.
