Respected Swamiji, While answering a question re Panch Pranas, Swamiji has mentioned Apana as upward Prana and Udana as downward. I was under the belief that Apana is downward from navel to the feet and Udana upward from throat to head. I have heard of five Upavayus also. In this, it is said that in those who are enlightened,the Dhananjaya Vayu , leaving after death may be seen as a light going heavenwards. After Bagwan Ramana Maharshi’s samadhi, Paul Brensson, a renowned French photographer, who was in Arunachala, has reported seeing it ,as also a disciple of Maharshi in Lucknow and my wife’s aunt in Trichur.
