Dear Parvathy,
It is not a belief, it is a fact. According to Science, whatever effect emerging from a cause will have to merge with the cause ultimately. Similarly your mind is the cause for the birth and mind is existing because of the conscious cause. The mind has to merge with the consciousness (Paramatma). Then you are relieved from the cycle of rebirths.
