Dear Anirudh,
For a person deep rooted in compassion and love, it is very difficult to give pain or hurt others.
For a warrior it is his Swadharma to kill the enemy.
That is what Krishna advised to Arjuna in Geeta.
When you do your duty with dispassion and surrender, it does not affect you as the Lord is acting through you.
When you feel guilt, it shows that you are doing it with doer-ship – the feeling that YOU are doing it.
It will destroy your peacefulness.
The warriors who die in war are said to attain VEERSWARG.
It is because, when fighting a war, they are in the present moment – a thoughtless or no-mind state!
