Swami, Some people say that when god is within us and with us always, why doing sandhyavandanam and other nitya karmas needed.I dont agree with such thoughts. But I have no answer as to why ?

Dear Ramasubramanian,
Though milk is available in the udders of the cow, without milking the cow, can we get it? Though oil is present in a coconut, without extracting it, can we get it for our use?
Similarly God is very much present in our life, unless and until you do certain spiritual practices (sadhana) you will not be able to experience it. Hence our ancestors insisted on certain sadhanas. Do it with total dedication and surrender. Never do it mechanically; that will not help you.
