Swamiji, 2.9.9-11 part of Bhagavata describes how Brahma devan did his thapas for 1000 years and how Bhagavan showed his divyaloka to Brahma devan. It decribes how the inhibitans of that divyaloka or Vaikunta looks like. Is this means that there ware inihibitants in Vaikunta even before the apperance of Brahma deva? Please help me to clear this doubt. Hari Om

Please understand Brahma is the representative of Jeevathma or a mind with thoughts. Such a mind is the reason for creation of the material world. Vishnu represents the cosmic consciousness or Paramatma. It is when the mind (Jeevathma) meditates and does tapas that it sees the world of pure consciousness or Vaikuntam. These descriptions should not be taken literally but used to understand the principles they explain. Hari Om.
