Swamiji, as you say happiness and sorrow is experienced by jeevathma. Please explain about athma’s link with the brain. For eg. if injury occurs at any part of the body how message is conveyed. People often tells that in Parkinson”s disease people has memory about the past in that case how the link disconnect from brain. I always get confused with all these questions .

Athma is not linked with the brain. Brain is part of the physical body, and any structural disease process affects the physical body only. Mind and its root, the consciousness, though expressed though the physical body, are really not part of it. At birth, mind connects with the body and at death detaches from it. When we say experience or emotions, it is of the mind (thoughts) and happens by the presence of the consciousness. It is important to understand the body, the mind and the Self as three distinct but inter related entities. Hari Om.
